Brides of the Copper Mantle

Positioned directly aside Her Living Radiance, the Custodes are the empire's supreme martial order. Selected not for fertility but for exceptional discipline, intelligence, physical prowess, and unwavering loyalty, they serve as the living wall between the sacred hierarchy and every threat to the realm.
Their oath is one of absolute devotion—not to an individual woman, but to the continuity of the empire itself. Every movement they perform is ritualized, every formation perfected through decades of relentless training. To the public they are equal parts saints, soldiers, and living monuments.
They escort the Magna Voluptas through the streets of Voluptuary City, guard the Sacred Wombs, defend the ancient portal chamber, and stand eternal watch over the deepest relics of the faith.

Signature Design Element

Every Custodes candidate undergoes The Weaving after completing her martial training.
Microscopic copper filaments are implanted just beneath the skin in geometric patterns following major nerves, blood vessels, and muscle groups.
Under normal lighting they are almost invisible.
Under strong Orgone illumination they appear as delicate golden tracery beneath the skin, like illuminated veins.
Rather than looking mechanical, the effect is almost ethereal.
During ceremonies the lattice glows softly.
During combat it can blaze with brilliant sapphire light.

The Creed

"We are the Wall Around the Flame, the living shield that neither falters nor yields. Our hearts beat not for ourselves, but for the Radiance that sustains the empire. We stand between creation and chaos, between the sacred vessel and the waiting darkness. Our bodies are the fortress; our discipline is the gate. While one Custodes yet draws breath, the Light shall never fall."

Aesthetic

The Custodes reject the idea that protection comes from hiding. Protection comes from mastery. Their armor exists to preserve life—not to conceal flesh.
A novice is taught:
"Armor does not replace courage. It merely guides the blow away from the Temple."

Imagine if Art Deco, Byzantine ceremonial armor, and classical Greek sculpture had a child. The body remains visible. The armor celebrates anatomy instead of obscuring it. Not because of eroticism—
because the human body is considered divine architecture. Every plate accentuates rather than conceals.

Instead of breastplates, A rigid copper harness. It follows the clavicle, wraps around the ribs, frames the sternum, protects the heart with overlapping geometric plates. The abdominal muscles remain visible beneath shimmering copper lattice mail. The shoulders are fully armored. The spine is heavily protected. The lungs and vital organs receive reinforcement. The overall impression is, The armor traces the body rather than covering it.

Instead of steel mail, Millions of tiny articulated copper scales, each is connected by microscopic orgonite joints. The scales lie almost flat until impact, then they stiffen together, like fish scales, or pinecones.

Shield and Spear
Shields are large, beautiful mirror-polished copper with purple orgonite inlays. Concentric Art Deco geometry. The signature Spear is very long, and elegant, A copper alloy shaft, white ceramic blade with a purple crystal near the grip. The blunt end resembles a phallus.

The Seven Vows

I. The Copper Mantle

"I swear to place myself between Her Living Radiance and every danger, accepting injury or death before allowing harm to reach the sacred heart of the empire."
