Lux Volupta
Lux Volupta is a story I've been developing for some time. It started as a worldbuilding exercise and I've fallen in love with the setting so I'm currently writing a story to go with it. Contained here you will find some of the world for you to explore. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

The
Story
For thousands of years, the Dominion of the Living Current has flourished beneath crystal spires and copper towers, drawing limitless power from the deepest bonds of the human spirit. Its priestesses heal instead of conquer, its engineers coax storms from the sky, and its guardians stand watch over relics older than memory. But the Current is faltering. An ancient enemy gathers beyond the horizon, the heavens prepare for a once-in-centuries convergence, and a prophecy no one truly believed demands a sacrifice unlike any before it. Somewhere beyond the stars waits the one soul capable of changing everything. If he comes too late, an age of light will end. If he comes at all… the world itself may never be the same.
Welcome to Vorgathia
The World
Vorgathia is a world where emotion is as real a force as gravity, and the mysterious energy known as Orgone powers everything from healing and architecture to weather and flight. Beneath soaring marble cities veined with copper and glowing violet crystal, an ancient civilization has flourished around the belief that joy, intimacy, creativity, and human connection strengthen the Living Current that sustains all life. Guided by the radiant Dominion and its great holy orders, the people of Vorgathia have built a society where faith, science, and technology are inseparable, transforming living energy into wonders that border on the miraculous. Yet beneath this golden age lie forgotten relics of an older civilization, rival nations that embrace a darker path, and mysteries that reach back to humanity's first arrival on this extraordinary world.
The People
The people of Vorgathia believe that every person is born carrying a spark of the Living Current, and that a life lived with compassion, creativity, and authentic human connection strengthens the world around them. Their society rejects shame and celebrates the body as a natural expression of life, weaving beauty, artistry, and emotional openness into every aspect of daily existence. From childhood, every citizen is educated to discover their talents before choosing a calling, serving in one of the great orders or countless civic professions that sustain the Dominion. Though their culture may appear idyllic to outsiders, it is built upon immense discipline, ancient traditions, and the shared conviction that the flourishing of one person enriches the entire civilization.
The Faith
The dominant religion of Vorgathia teaches that all life is animated by the Living Current, an invisible flow of Orgone that binds every living soul to the cosmos. Its followers believe that love, joy, compassion, creativity, and genuine human connection bring individuals into harmony with this divine current, while fear, shame, and emotional repression disrupt its flow. To them, faith is not separate from daily life but expressed through acts of healing, craftsmanship, celebration, scholarship, and service, making every vocation a form of worship. Guided by the Magna Voluptas and the great holy orders, the Daughters of the Radiant Quim has shaped every aspect of Vorgathian civilization, uniting spirituality, science, and culture into a single vision of human flourishing.
The Enemy
Beyond the warm heartlands of the Dominion lies a frozen empire that embraces everything the Living Current rejects. Where the people of Vorgathia celebrate openness, joy, and the free flow of Orgone, the Covenant believes strength is found through discipline, repression, and absolute control, twisting the same ancient forces into cold instruments of order and domination. Its towering gothic cities, shrouded in perpetual winter and illuminated by sickly blue-green energy, stand as a mirror image of the radiant civilization to the south. Locked in an uneasy struggle of philosophy as much as power, these rival nations represent two irreconcilable visions of humanity's future—and the fate of Vorgathia may ultimately depend on which vision prevails.
The Prophecy of the First Flame
"From the Book of the First Gate, verses XII–XXI"
When the Living Current grows quiet,
and the Last Flame flickers within the House of Mothers...
When the Pillars stand tall yet cannot summon the rain,
and the Wells overflow yet cannot satisfy the thirst of the world...
When the Elder Sister embraces the Younger beneath the Light of Liorah,
the First Gate shall remember its purpose.
Then shall come one not born beneath our sun,
carrying within him the Forgotten Fire.
He shall bear no crown,
yet kings shall kneel.
He shall carry no scepter,
yet the Towers shall answer his touch.
He shall know no scripture,
yet the Current shall recognize his heart.
The barren shall rejoice.
The silent crystals shall awaken.
The sleeping engines shall sing once more.
The Frozen shall tremble.
The Closed Hand shall loosen.
The Long Winter shall remember spring.
Many shall call him savior.
Many shall call him blasphemer.
Both shall speak without understanding.
For he comes not to rule the Living Current...
He comes to remind it who it is.
When Flame and Vessel become one,
when Heart and Current beat together,
when Love and Life are no longer divided...
Then shall the First Flame burn again,
and humanity shall become whole.
